Located at  National Yang-Ming  University Campus in Taiwan (see attached map), the multi-disciplinary surgical training center was established in 1999 to provide a variety of  training, including clinical and experimental, in surgery.

The center is well equipped with technologically advanced facilities including:

• Microscopic animal laboratory  
• Open, endoscopic and laparoscopic animal laboratory
• Hands-on dry laboratory with advanced laparoscopic equipments
• Live tissue laboratory 
• Interactive-video library
• da Vinci^® robotic surgery training facilities (This device is located in Taipei City Hospital)
• High-speed broadband internet connection
• Theater for live demonstration of operation from major teaching hospitals of the university 

E-based international journals and reference books are also available in the STSTC. Enhanced training activities using hi-tech equipment such as the virtual simulator of laparoscopic surgery .

With the aim of promoting Minimally Invasive Therapy (MIT) in Asia, STSTC offers a wide range of teaching program. Various established educational programs for surgeons, physicians, nurses and allied healthcare professionals across all levels are available. Examples include Basic Laparoscopic Urology Course for local trainees and regional surgeons, Advanced Laparoscopic Urology Course for experienced urologists, scheduled web-casting and teleconferences with world-renowned laparoscopic surgery centers. An intensive fellowship program in urology is also actively underwent in the center.

With the active involvement of an international experts panel in the training and educational activities, course participants can  reassure the quality of programs offered by STSTC Urological Laparoscopy Program.
